About LB-Hus
LB-Hus is one of Sweden’s leading manufacturers of MMC Timber Frame homes and has delivered approx. 45,000 homes since its formation, more than 50 years ago, in 1957. LB-Hus currently manufactures 700 dwellings per annum. Present turn-over is approx. 950 MSEK (around 100 MEUR) and more than 400 people are employed.
Products
Our houses are of closed panel construction with insulation, windows and doors factory fitted. The external wall panels have a drained and ventilated cavity which is clad with brick, timber or rendered cement board. The external walls contain 230mm of insulation and are constructed using engineered studs with thermal breaks. The windows we use are tripple-glazed, argon-filled timber windows. Prefabricated intermediate floor cassettes and gable head sections as well as roof trusses are supplied as part of the kit. Our houses have an airtight seal built in, which in conjunction with our superior insulation levels leads to excellent thermal efficiency .
Our house kits can be weather tight in just one day. The kits comprise all the necessary components for the structural and thermal performance of the house and other items that are logistically viable.
Exports
LB-Hus established itself on the European and world market more than 20 years ago. Over the years, several thousand of our houses have been delivered to export markets in 14 different countries. In recent years, our exports have been mainly to Denmark, Germany, France, Spain and Japan. LB-Hus has a long tradition, and experience in working within the different rules and regulations applicable in various countries. We do this in close co-operation with our partner companies throughout the world.
Environment and energy
The Swedish Government is actively promoting the use and development of sustainable and energy efficient building methods, particularly with regard to domestic buildings. As LB-Hus is Sweden’s leading proponent of this technology, and are deeply committed to research and development, we have been working with a government appointed task force to improve and promote the use of this method of construction. We are the only timber frame manufacturer to have been appointed to this working group.
Our houses are designed and manufactured to be highly energy efficient and to achieve the highest possible thermal standards, while all the time providing a pleasant and comfortable living space. By careful selection of raw materials and the use of modern, efficient production methods, we also strive to give you a home with the lowest possible carbon footprint and total energy consumption over the life of your new home.
